R.A.D. Examinations
R.A.D. examinations provide students with:
• achievable goals to work towards
• recognition from the world’s largest ballet examination board
• qualifications that are fully accredited by the UK regulatory authorities
• the impetus to achieve their personal best in a fun and nurturing environment

Regulation in England
The Royal Academy of Dance is recognised as an Awarding Organisation in England by the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual).
 
The RAD’s qualifications are accredited on the Qualifications and Credit Framework as follows:

Level 2 (i.e. Grades 4, 5 and Intermediate Foundation) is equivalent on the QCF to higher grade GCSE (A*-C) qualifications.
Level 3 (i.e. Grades 6, 7, 8, Intermediate and Advanced Foundation) is equivalent on the QCF to Advanced Level qualifications.

UCAS points

Graded and Vocational Graded Examinations in Dance at Level 3 have now been allocated points on the UCAS Tariff.

This means that candidates who have achieved a Pass or higher in a Level 3 qualification (Grades 6, 7, 8, Intermediate and Advanced Foundation) can use their RAD examination result towards their points tariff when applying to University or a Higher Education institution in the UK.

The point allocation varies, based on the examination level and attainment band (pass classification).
